New Year, New You

New Year, New You

January has come upon us and its the time of year of setting new intentions, resolutions and wellness. Blue monday came around (3rd week of January) which gave us the opportunity to see where we were doing well and where we wanted to improve. However, this day is known for affecting our emotions. It is important to be kind to ourselves and appreciate how far we have come.

Mercury went retrograde in December and ended on the 18th January hooray! Mercury retrograde is all about realigning your thoughts, feelings and habits and working through difficult times. Its been a rough ride and to be honest, a bit of a rollarcoaster. You will start to feel lighter and more yourself again now though. We have the new moon coming up on the 21st January and this is all about manifesting and setting intentions. Use the energy to bring in what you want and heal.

Talking about healing, January is a great time to do so. Its a time of hibernation, relaxing and reflection. Looking back on what worked, what could be improved and looking at how far you’ve come. Ask yourself the question, how am I feeling? Do I want to change and if so, how? Setting new intentions in January is a positive way to attract what you want.

Self-improvement and wellness are big topics and areas of focus for the first month of the year. Setting up a positve routine can help you feel more focused, aligned and motivated. So which areas can we focus on? How do you want to feel, look and think going forwards? Here are some ideas:

Mental– Having time out, practicing positive affirmations, relaxing (time away from screens)

Physical– Implementing a positive, fun and upbeat exercise tasks like walking, gym, classes, stretching and yoga

Emotional– Taking time to relax, work through adverse emotions, doing things that bring you joy and loving yourself

Social– Having fun, creating more time to meet new people, joining activities and clubs that interest you

Spiritual– Meditation, breathwork, time alone (solitude), journalling, connecting to self

January is all about creating time and space to feel motivated and focused as well as still having ‘me time’. January 29th is known as the positive day of January as the planet Venus stations direct. Expect to feel positie, loved and supported energetically. January symbolism is a path to stability and greatness. It gives the energy of good luck and achievement. How ar you spending the rest of your January?
